I was saddened to read of George's passing. He was a teacher at Harrison whose enthusiasm and concern for his students was much appreciated. Helen was later my phys. ed teacher who also was a mentor and made a positive impact on my life. I regret not knowing the Deiters lived a short distance from my home in Ocala as I surely would have paid them a visit. My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow.
Respectfully,

His answer was quick and pointed-you needed discipline!! How...

Our prayers go out to Ray and his Mother on the passing of George. I knew him from from being a student at Harrison in the 50's and also from church, I can honestly say you were the best teacher I ever had. We had alot of fun with you playing basketball at the school on 4th street. If this world today would have teachers like Mr Deiter, the world would be a better place, and kids would have more respect for their parents and the world around them. Sir, you were the best and a privledge to...

Mr Deiter was my teacher at Harrison and Mrs. Deiter too at LHS...and I attended school with Ray, their son. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I send my prayers to the family. Please know what a positive impact Mr. Deiter (and Mrs. Deiter) had on my life. I am very grateful for the years they taught in Lebanon.
