George William Gist Jr.

1947 - 2015

GEORGE WILLIAM GIST JR. 10/20/47-12/14/15 George passed peacefully with family and friends at his bedside. He was born to Jaxine and George in Oakland, but spent most of his life in El Sobrante, Butte Valley and Oroville. George was a true people person. Once you met him, he became your friend. He loved to visit and laugh with others. He enjoyed adventure, excitement and helping others. After Vietnam, he received two Purple Hearts and an honorable discharge from the Army. George sold real estate, drove 18 wheelers and excelled in the recycling business. He loved Harleys and quads, hunting, fishing, boating, water sports, competitive bowling, trips to the casino, traveling and attending church. George is survived by his wife Susan, his children Donovan (Michelle), Jason, Charli (Max), Bailee, and his siblings Linda and Bruce. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, Ron and son Georgie. He had 11 grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, December 19th at 10:00AM, at Paradise Alliance Church, 6491 Clark Road in Paradise. A Reception will follow. Arrangements entrusted to the Neptune Society of No CA, Chico Branch.
