George JOE Obituary

JOE, George Lee, III was born in Tucson, AZ, on August 11, 1962, to George Lee and Phyllis J. Gaston Joe. The eldest of four siblings, George was affectionately known as "Bub," a name given to him by his paternal grandmother. George was baptized and attended Phillips Chapel CME Church. He reaffirmed his faith and was baptized March 21, 2017, at Greater Emmanuel Grace Apostolic Church, where he served faithfully as a greeter until his departure from his earthly life. George graduated from Cholla High School in 1980. He worked with his father at a community market owned by a small group of entrepreneurs, which his father was a part of. George received an Associate of General Studies from Pima Community College and later secured employment with the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department. George's love of football and mentoring youth led him to a career with Tucson Unified School District in October 1991 as a Football Coach and as a Drop Out Prevention Specialist in 1999 at his beloved Cholla High School and later at Santa Rita High School until his retirement in 2016. George leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory: wife, Adrain; children, Destiny Ann Joe, George Lee Joe IV, Mist Jazzlynd Johnson and Emery Johnson; grandchildren, Tamea, Ajanai and Zyriah; brother, Eric L. Joe; sister, Kendra S. Joe; grandmother, Elnora Martin; endeared mother, Rosie Joe-Heishberg; great-aunts, Hannah Lynch, Bernice Joe, Charsie Hunter and Lorraine Norwood; aunts, Karen and Shirley Martin. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the TFCU "Kids Matter" 56846-01. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2018 at Cholla High School Auditorium with an Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN.
