George Miller Obituary

LEBANON George H. "Bud" Miller, 86, formerly of Schaefferstown, died Friday, November 12, 2010, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Evelyn M. Fasnacht Miller to whom he was married 64 years. He was born May 22, 1924, in Lebanon, a son of the late George H. Miller, Sr. and Lillian Gross Miller. He was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp. and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Schaefferstown and the Richland American Legion, Post 880. He volunteered for many years for the Schafferstown Fire Company, Meals on Wheels, and was assistant Boy Scout Master in Schaefferstown. Bud was a local baseball coach for many years and played for the Schaefferstown Barons in the Lebanon Valley League. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Roy "Butch", husband of Donna Miller of Bernville, Michael, husband of Karen Miller of Lebanon, and Rob, husband of Terri Miller of Myerstown; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brothers, Edward, husband of Nancy Miller, and Russell, husband of Jeanette Miller, both of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by brothers, John Miller and Charles Miller; and sister, Shirley Brightbill. Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown, with a visitation on Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
