Ellie:
I just learned of George's passing. I always felt he was a wonderful man and both you and he were so kind to me at the Institute. My husband, Rob and I were so pleased and honored to sit with George and you at the Aspen Institute's Annual Award Dinner at the Plaza last November. We will all miss his wonderful smile and pleasant ways.
My best to you!

I had the honor of working with George Munroe as Senior Counsel and Assistant Secretary for Phelps Dodge in the mid 1980s. He was the smartest person I ever worked with and a wonderful human being. My condolences to Ellie and his "boys"

Ellie: I remember the first time I met George was on Aspen Mountain with you! Skiing down the slopes. I have considered him a good friend ever since. We will miss him! Love, Edgar
