George was talented but gracious. He always seemed happy to be alive. I recall seeing George after many, many years and we talked as if our conversation was a simple continuation of the last one. Though Islesboro was our primary connection, I love Beaufort, too, and that resonated.
The good die young -- and George was forever young at heart.
