Not sure what to say?

Scoot was the best brother a girl could ever have. His sense of humor, caring nature, and loving personality will be with me forever. I have been proud of you, big brother, all my life. My heart aches for my best friend, Debbie and their wonderful children, spouses, and grandchildren. Scoot, you will live in our hearts forever.
Your sister, Bonnie

To the Powers family, July 2,2006
I served with George in the 3 rd.
platoon in Vietnam in 1967-68.
I will always remember him.( L-33 )

Dear Debbie,
If there ever was a more loving husband, concerned father, professional soldier, endearing gentleman, outstanding colleague and good friend, it was Colonel George "Scoot" Powers. I sit here in tears thinking of the times we worked and spent together. Certainly not nearly as many as I wish we could have and should have had. We Wish You and the Family GOD's Peace and Love and Ask That HE Bless and Keep Scoot in HIS Loving Arms Forever.

To the Powers Family:
I was saddened to hear of the death of George Powers. I was his troop commander when we served together in the 11th ACR in VietNam. He was an outstanding soldier and leader. He took care of his men and never failed to accomplish any task I assigned to him. We took great delight in kidding each other about our respective colleges, mine was West Point and his was the Citadel.

George, old Friend, I'll see you at "Fiddlers Green".

Allons, Robert...

Mrs. Keltner,

I just read about Col Powers passing away from The Citadel website. I’m terribly sorry to hear that, he was a great man. Please pass along my condolences to the staff and family.

Thank you,

To the Powers family: My deepest sympathy to you. Col. Powers was a great man and the long gray line has lost a member that embodied the true meaning of a Citadel Man. He will never be forgotten in the hearts of the young men, like me, that he had a positive influence on.
