Not sure what to say?

He was the best and only dad and father I will ever have. Love his son, Zachary.

Single Memorial Tree

On the upcoming anniversary of George's death, wishing peace for his family and freedom for his spirit.

Dear Shively family .. my memories of George are from 1967 to 1970 when we were friends and I used to go down my hill to Vine Street and his mother would let me in to see George. George was the nicest friend anyone could have.. thoughtful and honest and kind. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Lighting a candle for George - may his spirit live on in the boys - Ben, Zach and Joe - and Jenny.
Much love

Dear Shively Family: I was so sorry to hear about George this week (from some of my former Prudential colleagues). We worked together many years ago at this point, but I was always impressed with his professionalism, hard work, and sheer decency -- he was a great and fun colleague (and as I remember a terror on the basketball court at the Prudential Legal and Compliance picnics!). More importantly, he was a wonderful human being. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Jenny and Family:

I only came to learn of George's passing today. I live in Northern California and went to Middlebury with George. I have only fond memories of George. I remember him as being kind, light-hearted and lots of fun, often in an irreverent way; and rarely one to speak unkindly of others. I'm so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, John McIlwain

To the Shively Family,
Sincere condolences on your loss. May the love and memories you shared bring you comfort. God's grace and peace be with you always.

I know I speak on behalf of all of us that worked with George when I say that he is, and will continue to be, greatly missed. George was an enormously talented attorney and a great leader that cared very much about his team. My sincerest gratitude to George's family for sharing many wonderful stories about George at today's funeral services.
