Uncle George was a very nice guy. He drove up to Illinois to see my mom, Mabel Lee, his niece, often when I was a kid. He was always smiling and he was so gentle with us kids. I got a kick out of his Southern accent too! He and Aunt Nannie came to watch me play a softball game on one of their visits! I was thrilled!
