George and Linda, I was working in the Monastery Gift Shop in Ferdinand, IN, when the two of you and George came in. He seemed to be a kind and gentle person with such a beautiful smile. I was so sorry to read of his death and offer you my sympathy and prayers. Sr. Ann Marie Howard, OSB

I worked with George at The Times Herald-Record in Middletown, N.Y., and he was a larger-than-life figure with a booming laugh and easy way about him. He could be playful one moment and be serious the next when it came to work. We stayed in touch and I watched as his career advanced and he kept his good humor about him throughout.
