Yes, my old friend, we were seven or eight years old, sitting on those cement stairs, oblivious to our futures. Maybe, two or three years later, on those same stairs, we played Monopoly. I think you almost always won! But the most everlasting memory were those races around the big block, down Nahant Avenue, up and around to Shirley Avenue and back to thsoe stairs. Beverly, Diane and I were shocked and saddened upon hearing of our long-time friends passing. Although we haven't seen each other in a number of years, every now and then I would get a message from a mutual friend, that Jerry sent his regards and I would do the same. Words cannot express the sorrow we feel.......Our years together on Nahant Ave. are to be cherished.
