Gerald Fugate Obituary

INDIAN TRAIL -- Mr. Gerald D. Fugate, 62, died September 30, 2002 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews.
Mr. Fugate was born November 9, 1939 in Cashiers, North Carolina, a son of the late Charles Homer Fugate and Eula Littleton Fugate. He worked with Concrete Supply Co. for thirty-one years before his retirement in 2001. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Trial.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Fugate will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2002 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail with The Reverend Mike Whitson, Senior Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 9:00 p.m. at the church. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2002 at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
Mr. Fugate is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Betty Laney Fugate; two sons, Jeff Fugate and his wife, Sandra and Gerry Fugate; one granddaughter, Brittany Fugate; brothers and sisters, Carrol Fugate of Pisgah Forest, NC, Ruth Stewart of Brevard, NC, Leontine Love of Lucedale, MS, Sandy Fugate of West Palm Beach, FL and Paul Fugate of Cashiers, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in remembrance of Gerald D. Fugate to his church, First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, 732 Fairview Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
