GERALD KELLEY Obituary

KELLEY, Gerald V. Jr. Age 87 of Medford, Massachusetts and Ewa Beach, Hawaii, passed away on February 25, 2019. Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Gerald and Mary Kelley.

Gerald attended Medford High School and was a graduate of Boston College. He was drafted into the Army in September 1953. After two years in the Army, he spent two more years in the Reserves. Gerald was a union newspaper man, working for the Boston Post, the Boston Herald, and the Boston Globe. He spent most of his years with the Globe as a mailer.

Gerald had a passionate love for Broadway, and for movies, especially classic movies. He took many trips to New York City to attend Broadway shows back in the 60's and 70's, and knew everything there was to know about every classic movie made.

After he retired from the newspaper business, Gerald moved to Hawaii, where he spent 23 years enjoying his retirement. He was a loving uncle to three nieces, two nephews, two grandnieces, and two grandnephews. He is survived by his brother, Paul Kelley. He will be missed by all.

A Service for the family will be held on March 25, 2019. Interment will follow at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
