Gerald R. (Jerry) Strebel

Nashville, TN - Gerald R. (Jerry) Strebel passed away on December 11, 2020. Jerry was born on February 7, 1940 in Sheboygan Wisconsin.

He is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 45 years, Judith (Simono) Strebel; daughter Mary Anne; his loving parents Raymond and Susan (Frieder) Strebel; and his brother Peter Strebel.

Jerry is survived by his wife Patricia (Guthrie) Strebel; his and Judy's children son William (Kathleen) Strebel; daughter Barbara (Michael Redd) Strebel; son Daniel (Michelle) Strebel; and son Bryan Strebel; stepson Michael (Angie) Guthrie; brother John Strebel; sister Carol (Gary) Gould; and brother Charles (Judy) Strebel ; granddaughter Ivy (James) Casto; granddaughter Holly Strebel; and grandson Luke Strebel. Please keep Jerry's family in your prayers, and may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Jerry Graduated from Rutgers University while working for General Electric in New York. "GE" Jerry completed a long and successful career with GE Major Appliances, winning their 'Masters' Title 3 years as well as earning National and State 'Hall of Fame' honors with the Homebuilders Association of Tennessee. Additionally, he belonged to many civil and fraternal organizations including Knights of Columbus, YMCA, Elks, Jaycees, Lions Club, Civitan and Toastmasters International. He had a special connection to ARC and was a founding member of the Nashville Golf Classic, which raised nearly $1M for Tennessee Special Olympics where he also served as a Chairman. He greatly enjoyed sharing his voice and was the 'Voice' of the Father Ryan Irish for many years, was the Starter for the Sara Lee, Electrolux and Franklin American Mortgage LPGA Golf Tournaments as well as the 'Vinnie' Golf Tournament.

Jerry was a charter member of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Brentwood Tennessee where he served as a Lector and Extraordinary minister. His 'Green Jacket' talks helped inspire the success of the Graceworks Christmas Basket Program at Holy Family. Jerry was also a devoted member of Catholic Media Productions, the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight and was a Past President of the Serra Club.

Jerry was well known for his strong baritone voice, his energetic drive to accomplish any task for a good cause, his love for his family, a good piano bar and the game of golf, although not sure in which order.
