Coach Carillo was one of the best people I've ever had the privelege to meet. A truly caring and dedicated man. He has truly earned his place in Heaven. I've often spoken of his caring for others. I am deeply saddened by his passing. Thank you, Coach, for your words of encouragement. You were instrumental to me in my formative years. Rest in Peace.

Mr. Carrillo was the principal at John Spring Junior High when I attended, and then returned to become the principal at Tucson High while I was there. He was one of the people that made a huge impact in my life. He truly wanted to help students achieve in academics, and life. I will never forget him. RIP Mr. Carrillo, your legacy lives on in the all of the lives you touched.

Gil Carrillo was my cousin, he was a class act thru and thru. He was a true inspiration to his students and athletes. Gil was a success in every sense of the word. I will miss him very much. My prayers go with him and his entire family.

What wonderful memories of Mr Carrillo when I attended Rincon High School 1960 -63! I was a twirler and he would encourage, cheer me up and compliment me when ever he saw me in the school and in his health class. He was caring and encouraging to all his students and I have mentioned him often over the years! RIP Nancy Nelson Grubb 63'

Gil and I worked together for many years, beginning at the Tucson Convention and Visitors bureau, then we both moved over to the Radisson Suite Hotel. It was his belief in me, that opened the door to a wonderful career in the hospitality industry. He taught me pride, class and just plain cool. Thank you, Gil,
