Coach Carillo was one of the best people I've ever had the privelege to meet. A truly caring and dedicated man. He has truly earned his place in Heaven. I've often spoken of his caring for others. I am deeply saddened by his passing. Thank you, Coach, for your words of encouragement. You were instrumental to me in my formative years. Rest in Peace.

Gil Carrillo was my cousin, he was a class act thru and thru. He was a true inspiration to his students and athletes. Gil was a success in every sense of the word. I will miss him very much. My prayers go with him and his entire family.

Gil and I worked together for many years, beginning at the Tucson Convention and Visitors bureau, then we both moved over to the Radisson Suite Hotel. It was his belief in me, that opened the door to a wonderful career in the hospitality industry. He taught me pride, class and just plain cool. Thank you, Gil,
Marie Chappue. (Anderson)

I learned so much from Gil, he was my boss at the Radisson. He always kept candy in his top drawer so when I brought my son to visit the office he could open the drawer for a treat. Gil was everyone's dad, best friend and your number 1 fan. He always had your back in front of people and would pull you aside to ask if you might have done something different. Always teaching... he loved Ruth and his kids so much and when he was blessed with Sasha his world was complete! Every time I saw him he told me all about his special time with Sasha, his pride and joy...he never called it spoiling her but he made sure she had every fun toy Gampi had...just a mini version! Love you Gil...I still have all my office desk clutter you gave me... including the dart board and golf cart!

In 1970 I had Mr. Carrilo for sex ed.
It was the first period of the day and I stood out there in just my sweater, no coat because I would have to carry it all day long. I was freezing !
Mr Carrillo would come and open the door to the T room and say "good morning Eskimo Mary !" Miss those times, miss Mr Carrillo.
