Not sure what to say?

In 1978 my wife of five months was baptized. Bishop Robert E. Taylor and his counselor, Reed Longhurst, attended the service. It was during a time when Reed was in Fort Collins as a Ph.D. candidate. I remember his towering frame and engulfing handshake, a gentle, welcoming man, age 34 at the time, and new to us as we merged into the gospel, the ward, and life. This great fellow has come to mind often in the years since. He was there, a witness to a baptism ordinance that paired us onto...

What a fantastic human being Glen was, hope to be your neighbor up there.

I met Glen at the family history center while serving as a Family History Consultant. He was towering in stature and his knowledge of family history. He cared about his consultants and treated us all equally. I know he missed serving this past year as we all did. I will miss him. Gary Whittaker

We are sad to hear of Glen’s passing. He was unfailingly kind and a huge asset in building the SUU Engineering program. Please accept our sympathy, Des and Sara Penny

Please accept our deepest condolences. We are so sad to hear of Reed’s passing. We clearly remember all the kind and wonderful things he did here in Idaho Falls and still miss him and all of you here. Please know that we are thinking of you and praying for you in this difficult time.

Dear Longhurst Family,
Both Sherry and I wish to express our sincere condolences for the loss of Glenn, he was a great man and we are grateful for his friendship and service in the community. He will be greatly missed.
Sincerely, Dane & Sherry Watkins

So sorry to hear about the death of Elder Longhurst. We treasure our missionary memories with the Longhursts in Detroit. Elder Longhurst and Sister Longhurst were the closest in assignment to us. We identified with their struggles. And they identified with our struggles as well. We love you sister Longhurst and wish you the best.
Love to you, David and Ileen Coats

Thank you for your service at the family history center! I enjoyed serving with you there, and many souls have been blessed because of your efforts and care for others.

Jean and Family, life has a way of turning our paths into one not expected. I was sorry to hear of Reed's passing at this sad time. I have fond memories of growing up with Reed way back in elementary school. Then my parents moved away from Logan and I lost track until you both were at Utah State University. You all have made such a monumental contribution to mankind. Jean, I often think of you whenever I drive by your old family home. Best wishes now, as you move on with your lives. ...
