Together they raised four children: Edward (d) of Norwood married to Susan, Michael of Norwood married to Diane, Robert (d) of Norwood married to Janet and Daniel of Foxborough married to Susan. He was additionally blessed with 13 grandchildren: James, Alyssa, Allison, Lindsey, Kelly, Alex, Eddie, Chris, Bobby, Danny, Timmy, Jackie and Rachel; and seven great-grandchildren (with another to be welcomed soon!), Lucy, Lucas, Tess, Olivia, Stella, Hugo and Jayden. Gordon's life was also enriched by a close relationship with his sister, Marie (d) and her husband, Joel; his brother, Phil (d); and his nieces: Jessica, Debbie, Cheryl; and nephews: Brian and Phil; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Gordon was a graduate of Westwood High School and served as the class treasurer and editor of the Newspaper and Yearbook. He spent four years in the Navy during the Korean War as a Petty Officer 1st Class. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bentley College. After his time in the Navy, he went on to a 46 year career at Raytheon as an Administrator/Controller. Gordon was devoted to Saint Catherine's Church; an original member of the Home and School Association that kept the school open in 1968 during challenging time and served as an usher for many years. An avid sports fan and father he took great pleasure coaching his boys on the Royals Norwood Little League team; winning the town championship undefeated 16 and 0 in 1974. He also chaired the Little League Volunteer Committee that brought the lights to Bird Field. Gordon was an original member of the Norwood Cable Commission that brought internet to Norwood and served on the Commission for 30 years.
