Miss Gracie was a great woman, I worked with her a short time. But I feel blessed to have had that chance. I will always remember Grace as an unusually kind person. Grace had no real reason to maintain an acquaintence with me, other than because of her generosity of spirit. Though I didn't know Grace well, and we actually crossed paths on relatively few occasions, she cared for our friendship with a quiet and constant warmth. She was energetic and enthusiastic about life, and came to dinner with us at age 95 dressed in high heels! She was elegant, sophisticated, and appreciative of what little...
