Not sure what to say?

I used to come into the restaurant as a child and can still remember Papa Gus's loving blue eyes. I secretly thought he might be Santa Claus! He always brought me out a bowl of banana pudding when I finished my dinner. What a sweet soul. Love to his family.

I was out of the country and heard of Mr. Gus's passing. Charlotte has lost a wonderful man; an honest, caring, and loving man...a local icon. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is in heaven now cooking up the best fried squash in the world. We love and miss you Fresh My Farm!!

I'm so sorry for your loss. May you draw ever close to the 'Hearer of prayer' as you pour out your heart. For he 'is near to those broken in heart and those crushed in spirit he saves.'-Psalm 34:18;Psalm 65:2

I always loved to come eat there when we came to Charlotte...Gus will be greatly missed...Love and prayers...

George, Thrace, and Lisa...
I'm sorry to hear of your father's passing. My family has always enjoyed your restuarants. Your family is well loved and respected and I wish guys well in this difficult time. May God bless.

we are so sorry for his passing but he did a great servoce to all that knew of him,30 years ago I took my oldest daughter there and he gave her a watermelon and after all these years she still recalls that day,you all are in my prayers

He fed a lot of people many good meals during the course of his life. His restaurant has been a long time Charlotte institution.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Bacogeorge. May the good Lord comfort and lift you up from sorrow.

He made a difference with his life and made a lot of friends through his restaurant too.

I have eaten at Gus's for 30 years at least.. They had the best fried squash in Charlotte.

My family always enjoyed our visits to Gus' before Checkers' games! Papa Gus always had mashed potatoes with milk for Peyton and Riley. Peyton remembers Papa Gus taking her back to the kitchen and giving her bananas to go. Thrace, our deepest sympathies to you and your family. He was a good, honest, hard working man! Rest in peace dear Papa Gus!
