Gussie Loveridge Obituary

Augusta Margaret Loveridge
July 21, 1929 - August 25, 2017
Gussie was born at Redvale, CO to Augustus "Gus" Westcott and Katherine Burwell Westcott. Both sides of her family homesteaded in the Disappointment Valley, where she spent her early years with sisters, Erma, and Gennie, brother, Jack, and many Burwell cousins. The family later moved to Grand Junction, CO.
After the death of Gus, mother, Katherine, got a job teaching at Coates Creek School on Glade Park, CO, which Gussie attended. She then graduated from Central High School. She later met her husband, JT Loveridge, on Glade Park. They were married April 16, 1951. They lived in Moab, Utah and then moved to Fruita, CO in 1968 where they spent the remainder of their years.
Gussie worked at Mesa County Sheriff's Department for 20 years.
Gussie leaves behind son, Timothy (Deborah) Loveridge of Escondido, CA; daughter, Emma Zoe Gatley of Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Brian (Andrea) Gatley, Lindsey Gatley (Paul Metsker), Nathan Loveridge of Escondido, CA; Kelly (Rick) Lucas of Mountain Home, AR; Katelyn Loveridge of Escondido, CA and six great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jackson Gatley-Metsker; Aleigh, Addison, Avaleigh, and Alivia Lucas.
Gussie is preceded in death by her husband, JT Loveridge; son-in-law, Vernon R. Gatley III "Chip"; sisters, Erma Moorland, and Gennie Kruckenberg, and brother, Jack Westcott.
A funeral service will be held at Martin Mortuary on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Gussie will join her beloved JT in his family plot in Moab, Utah.

Zoe and Tim,
My most heartfelt condolences to you both on the loss of your mother. Her smile, sense of humor and loving ways remained with me after all these years.
I don't have to tell you how fortunate you were to have her for a mother.
