Gustav Csink Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 14, 2018.
Gustav F. Csink of Gotha, FL, formerly of Cedar Brook, NJ. Died August 12, 2018 at age 68. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Hilda and Adalbert Csink who emigrated from Rissdorf, Czechoslovakia. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Byrne, and father of Rachel, Andrew (Becca), David, Dana, Dori, Jenna, and Christopher. He was predeceased by his ward, Michael. Gus is survived by his brother Rudolf "Gin" (Rosemarie,) numerous grandchildren, and a loving extended family.

Gus was a stay-at-home dad for many years, ferrying his children to school and sports and helping out at their events. He was a devoted dad and a man who was always willing to help people in need. Getting anywhere on time was a challenge because Gus felt responsible for using his mechanical know-how to help stranded motorists, waiving away their offers of compensation. In NJ Gus was a foster parent extraordinaire who earned awards for both his care of abused and neglected children and his generous efforts at family preservation which supported reunification of biological parents and their children. He had a passion for muscle cars, and in his younger days enjoyed drag racing. He was a huge fan of doo-wop music and political talk shows. Gus never met a stranger. He was an authentic man with a gift for striking up conversations and putting people at ease. Gus showed everyone he met kindness and respect.

A memorial service will be held in NJ.

I can tell Gus was a Wonderful Man from reading so many kind words about him but I knew he had to be, from the few times I spoke with him over the phone. I knew he Loved his grandchildren very much and Loved taking care of all the children they have taken care of over the years and we clicked right away when i told him that I also take care of my granddaughter because we care so much for children. I was looking forward to meeting him and his wife this summer but never got the chance. I am so sad to loose a Wonderful person so soon. May God Bless His Family and Keep Them Strong Through This Difficult Time!! I am So So Sorry For Your Loss Patricia and You And Your Family will be in My Prayers
