Notice

It is with heavy hearts but the greatest of memories that we announce the sudden passing of Hadyn Thomas. Hadyn was a very proud father of Moira, Evan and Isla, loving brother to Victoria Ashmead and Wayne Thomas and caring friend to so many. He was a remarkable man, blessed with a gift for words...

Not sure what to say?

Barbara and I are very sorry that we can´t be with you on the 22nd to celebrate Hadyn´s life. We have fond memories both from his radio days and time at Monday Magazine.

I will always remember Haydn arriving as a new student at my high school. He stood out - and not just because he was wearing saddle shoes with his distinctive sartorial flair. He was witty, smart and a genuinely nice guy. Flash forward to more recent times when he appeared again, spending time with one of my longtime friends Lyn Collis, and was included in our annual pre-Xmas get-together with other friends. I am stunned that he is gone though we all knew he had serious health issues. But he...

What a fellow. (Hadyn was the only person of our generation who used that word. He also used "trousers" when the rest of us said "jeans"). Hadyn was a good pal in high school [Mt View class of '70]. We reconnected at the turn of the century as he was evolving to his new life as a double parent. His beloved children were all he talked about, besides cricket. Swell times. I got tickets for us to see Martha Wainwright opening for Mae Moore; Hadyn's penchant for taking things slowly and sitting...

Here´s to you cousin.

I so enjoyed the basketball games at UVIC cheering on the Vikes and our conversations over coffee. You will be remembered for your humour, your eloquence, diverse and interesting life, your love of family and for being the consummate gentleman.

Fond memories of working and partying with Hayden at CJVI, AM900 & Oldies 900 radio. A special guy who will be missed by many. RIP Hayden.

I was shocked and so sad to hear of Hadyn´s passing. We went to junior high and high school together in Calgary and were a couple for two of those years. We maintained a friendship and kept in touch for several years. My husband and I were delighted to be seated at the same table for dinner as Hadyn and Wayne a couple of weeks ago on our cruise. Sadly we didn´t have a chance to get together and catch up. I have many wonderful memories of Hadyn and our very special time together. My heartfelt...

It's been a couple of years since we got time to spend together but I will miss Hadyn's wit and humour.

What a shocking piece of news this morning! We've been friends, even though we rarely saw one another over the years since the early 80s. Our hearts go out to Moira, Evan and Isla. A friend to many, he'll not be forgotten.

What adventures we had my friend. The 'self righteous brothers" Ian, you, me. We laughed till it hurt. I miss you and your laughter, the good times, the pranks, your mischievous grin, fiery debates, and will treasure the good memories you made for us all! Luv ya still, 'bro!! Thanks for all the good times!
