Hai Gilbert

I first met Hai in 1978 at the LA Airport. I was there to visit Steve who had been my Peace Corps buddy in Thailand. When he met me at the plane he was with this beautiful Vietnamese woman. I remember how proud Steve looked as he introduced her to me , in FRENCH mind you, as his fiancee. (They had just gotten engaged the night before.)The next day I was with them when Steve "officially" asked Hai's mother for her hand in marriage. I remembering him saying, "I love your daughter very much."...

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom, grandma, wife and dear loved one. I remember when she lived here in the 70's. I was just a little girl at the time. My heart goes out to you and your loss. May you be comforted in special ways during this journey of grief. Love, Melissa

As old neighbors and friends, we are saddened to learn about Hai. For many years we lived across the street in SLC and our boys ventured through school together. Hai was always on the go and full of life. We wish Steve, Mimi and Stephen comfort going forward. She is definitely gone too soon.

I am so sorry to hear Hai passed. We worked together at American Express. I loved our conversations. She was a Great Lady.

I'm so sorry to learn of Hai's passing. We became friends while working at American Express and I truly enjoyed knowing her. She painted a picture of sunflowers for me and I've always cherished it. Rest in peace, Hai.
