Harold R. Masterman

MASTERMAN, Harold R. Devoted husband, father and grandfather, loving brother and loyal friend died peacefully on August 21, 2010 in Boston, MA. Harold was the beloved husband of the late Esta (Dores) and the son of the late Jacob and Anne (Roffman) Masterman of Boston. He was a career executive with the Boston Edison Company. He served as a Sergeant in the US Marines in the Pacific during World War II. He is survived by son, Wayne (Susan) Masterman, Lexington, Kentucky, daughters Linda (Mitchell) Myers, Brookline, and Susan Masterman, Hull, brother Edward (Sydell) Masterman, Brookline, and sister Rochelle Masterman Weil, Newton. He is also survived by grandchildren Daniel Masterman Myers, Jacqueline Rosanne Myers, Joshua (Corey) Dubick, Hallye Dubick, and great grand daughter Lena Chase Dubick. Preceding him in death were his brother Herman "Sonny" Masterman, Vera Masterman Halpert and Shirley Masterman Belcher. Harold was dedicated to his family and community. He served on the Boards of the Shriner's Burns Institute, the University of Massachusetts Foundation, Framingham State College and the Boston Chamber of Commerce. He graduated from Dorchester High School for Boys and the University of Massachusetts/Boston. He received an honorary Doctorate from Framingham State. Services will be held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels, 1668 Beacon Street, BROOKLINE on Tuesday, August 24th at 10 AM. Memorial observance will be at the home of Linda & Mitch Myers Tues. following interment and Weds 11 AM-2PM & 7PM-9PM.
