I was grateful to meet Hal at work. Because of Hal's mentoring, I learned to fly airplanes, which made a lot of things at work finally make sense. Hal and Dee also helped me to take my sailboat thru the Ballard Locks one day so that I could sell it. My life was profoundly better having met Hal and Dee, and I am grateful for the moments we shared together.

When Hal was still actively driving, he would stop by my house (when he would see me outside working in my garden) and he would roll down his window and then tell me how much I reminded him of his late wife. I do have some pretty funny driving stories of Hal behind the wheel. ;) I sure will miss him and I really hope whomever moves into his property doesn't remove all the trees and plants (garden) that he told me how much his late wife loved.
