Not sure what to say?

I only just learned of Capt'n Sacto's passing and feel compelled to pass along my sympathies. Mr. Martin was such a genuinely nice, kind, gracious, fun, likeable individual! As Capt'n Sacto he was part of my daily routine when my sister and I lived with our grandparents.
He caught my attention at 3 and held it it throughout my childhood and well into adulthood. His reparte with co-workers like Bette Vasquez, and all of the big stars he interviewed; his easy laugh, the twinkle in his eyes,...

Steve and Dayna,
Please accept my sympathies in the loss of your father and also the recent loss of your mother.
Having lived in Sacramento all my life, 50+ years, I always thought Harry Martin was the greatest. As a small child I loved Captain Sacto, and then there were always the movie star interviews on Channel 3. I was lucky to run in to him at a Kings game once, and he was very gracious and smiled, as I said, "Captain Sacto" when I shook his hand. Thank you for sharing your...

Dayna and Family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Harry's passing. Your father was a very beloved person who brought great joy to all of us who grew up watching not only Captain Sacto, but Weeknight. Sacramento has lost an icon.

My prayers are with you all at the loss of both of your parents. It is hard to lose both of them so close together.I watched all the different phases of Harry's advance in television from Capt Sacto on. He always was my favrite tv personality in Sacramento. And even after he retired I would watch hoping to see him again. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Dear Steven & Shari Uhlenberg and Dayna & Stephen Larson and Families. I as with everyone else who has written in Harry Martin's Guest Book, grew up with Harry, as our Cartoon Host, as well as the many other TV specialities that he did as well.

My Cub Scout Troop here in Sacramento, was leaving Skipper Stu's Cartoon Show, as a particular Day of being his Guests and Harry was getting ready to start his Show, Capn'Sacto, following the "Shipper Stu" Show. He greeted all of us Cub Scouts...

Good night and Sweet Dreams to the one and only Captain Sacto!
I grew up watching your father come in on that plane and I would say it's captain sacto!

Thank-you for sharing your father with so many of us who grew up here in sacramento.

I was eating dinner a few years ago in a local spot and who was in there eating dinner with his wife, Captain Sacto! I got a chance to thank him for the memories and he was so pleasant to speak with and he said you are welcome dear!

Harry Martin was one of the very finest. He kept me entertained when I moved to Sacramento.
I lived in Sacramento for 40 years and he always had such a good spirit. Always positive.

Back in the late 50s early 60's, I eagerly looked forward to getting home from school and tuning in to Capt. Sacto. At school we practiced "fall-out" drills and wore dog-tag ID's in case we ever got bombed by the Communist. As a youngster, I found it comforting to watch him fly in on that fighter jet, I was sure he was landing at McClellan AFB were my Mom, Dad and grandfather had civilian jobs. I knew they'd be safe with Capt. Sacto guarding the skies over this city! Yet he had time for the...
