Hazel Wells Obituary
Glendale - Hazel Marie Wells, 95, passed away on Friday, June 29th, 2018, peacefully at Highland Lakes Care Home in Glendale, AZ.
Hazel was born in Perryton, TX to Mott and Sarah Ann Cook on September, 21st 1922. She was the baby of the family, protected by her three older brothers, Howard, Chester & Norman. She married Glen William Wells in Oklahoma and they traveled for his employment until settling in Phoenix in the early 1940's. They had three boys, Don Wells of Midland, TX, Dick Wells of Ivins, UT and Gary Wells of Phoenix.
Hazel was a kind and loving person who adored her family and friends, loved hard candies, the Price is Right and ice cream. She was an amazing athlete in her prime, playing semi pro softball with the Haysettes and being an All Star Player. In later years she became an avid bowling enthusiast and played in local leagues with team mates becoming her dear friends. Hazel was smart as a whip and her attention to detail was admirable.
Hazel is survived by her three sons, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many friends. A special thank you to Orchid Park Care Home and Highland Lakes Care Home for their wonderful care of her the last 6 years.
