Helen Kolpin Obituary

Helen Kolpin of Des Plaines for 60 years Services for Helen Kolpin (nee Von Bergen) will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. John Lutheran Church, 1101 S. Linneman Road, Mount Prospect, where she will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Born June 12, 1924, in Norridge, she passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005. In her younger years, she loved to go dancing with her husband and friends. She worked side-by-side with her husband and family on their farm and at their vegetable stand. Throughout her great life, she loved to bowl, play handbells and sing in the church choir, make arts and crafts, play cards and games, cook meals for her guests and teach her grandchildren about her hobbies. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her beloved family and friends. She was the loving wife of the late Ervin Kolpin; loving mother of Kenneth (Maribeth) Kolpin and Marilyn (Brad) Schmidt; loving grandmother of Jennifer (Doug) Dienelt (nee Schmidt), Ellen Kolpin, Christine Schmidt and Michelle Kolpin; second child of four to the late Ernst and Hilma Von Bergen; loving sister of the late Gerhard. the late Ray and the late Ralph; loving sister-in-law of Julia Von Bergen (nee Kolpin), Florence Von Bergen and Carroll Von Bergen; and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St. John Lutheran Church, Shepherd's Flock at the Lutheran Home, where your heart remembers her. For information, 847-253-5423.

I am trying to locate a teacher I had in the fifth grade -Maribeth Wint. I was in her first class in she ever taught -seabrook tx-1968. I believe she married a man named Kenneth kolpin and had a daughter named Ellen . If this is the correct Maribeth can u please contact me at [email protected]

Helen and Erv were dear family friends. I have many fond memories going all the way back to working for them as a young kid at their Kenni-Lynn roadside stand. Much peace to all those whose lives she touched - family and friends - as we celebrate the gifts of her love, live and spirit.
