Mr. Allen,

First, please allow me to extend my condolence to you and your family. After reading the article today, November 19, it left me with tears of sadness and joy. Sadness because I know you are going to miss your wife of 65 years but joy because "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful love story with us. After being married to my husband for 22 years, I found this story to be an inspiration to those of us who...

I would like to give my condolences to the family. I did not know her personally, but her story has touched my life & my childrens life personally. Thank you for sharing her with us. May God comfort you in your time of need.

I didn't know Mrs. Helene Allen, but I received an email from a co-worker on yesterday (11-17-08) about the wonderful story and what a great couple they were and the life they lived. I am sure Mrs. Allen would be proud of our President Elect if she had lived to vote. My condolences go out to the entire Allen Family.

I received an email of the beautiful story that was printed in the newspaper. I just wanted to send my heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. God has truly blessed you! Even though she was not physically with you on election day she was and is definitely with you in spirit. God's eternal blessing always.

To the Allen Family -- I received an email with a beautiful love story as well. I was saddened to hear of your wife's passing. May God comfort you and may your loving memories of her cheer you in the days ahead. Blessings & Prayers.

May God be the glory. I was e-mailed the touching story that appeared in the Washington Post this morning. Like many I do not know your family, but I had to say something to let you know that your are surrounded by prayers that will keep you uplifted in your coming days. Thank you so much.
