Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathies go out to the family. I just learned of Helene's passing this morning and I'm still in a state of shock. I was privileged to have known Helene most of my life (from when I attended after-school care at the JCC to interning for her in high school; and then working for Alan- my first real job!). Know that she holds a special place in everyone's heart and that is where she and my memories of her will always be.

Peace and love,

Our heartfelt thanks to each of you for your postings to this guest book.
The Helene Leibowitz family.

Dear Leibowitz Family,
I first met Helene when I was a camp counselor at the JCC on SW 8th St. I was still in college and she had such an influence on my life. I met up with her many years later as I took my Girl Scout troop to entertain the seniors at the JCC. So many years have passed since we first met in 1978, but my fond memories of Helene will remain forever in my heart.

Dear Family and Friends of Helene:

I was privileged to know Helene for many years through her loving work at the Dave & Mary ALper JCC in Kendall. No matter how difficult, she always came through for my family and me, especially by getting us extra tickets and saving seats for performances. As everyone has noted, Helene was an extradordinary, first-rate human being--always positive, always kind and exhuberant. Just seeing her made my day better. I will never forget her. May her memory...

Dear Alan and family,
Learned of Helene's death this evening from a mutual friend's email. My friendship with Helene began while studying together for our Master's. Her vibrancy, and love of humor and human interactions was what she was about. Her work at JCC was incredibile-Senior's fashion shows, theatre productions, fund raiser at Dadeland, she could, would and did it all with a huge heart. She will be missed, we are all blessed to have shared time with her. My thoughts are with you...

Helene was a wonderful warm loving person with a fine sense of humor. We feel shock and sorrow and deep sympathy for her family. Sincerely Mike and Jean Berezin

Dear Leibowitz Family,
Just this past week I remembered a phone conversation I had had with Helene before you moved. I was so shocked to read of her passing. She was incredibly warm and compassionate. My deepest condolences . May her memory be for a blessing.

SUCH A SADNESS FOR ALL OF US...but imagine the joy she's bringing up above!!

Helene gave me the most memorable intro for a feng shui talk I was to give @ a Seniors brunch...She said...I BET YOU'RE ALL HERE BECAUSE YOU THINK FENG SHUI HAS TO DO W/KINKY SEX!!!
(It doesn't!)

That's our Helene!!!

Dear Leibowitz Family: How saddened I was to read about the passing of Helene. She was an inspiration, a shining star and a guiding light to my mother, my children, Michael and me.
