Not sure what to say?

Dear Anne and Family,
I knew Hank for many years through one of his many community commitments, this one to The Friends of Hemlock Gorge Reservation. It was a terrible and unexpected shock to lose him. He was a pillar of our efforts to preserve and protect this parkland. He was unfailingly generous with his time and wisdom. His smile and unfailing equanimity will sorely be missed. Much of his work with us is memorialized in both text and pictures on our website, and we hope it will bring...

Anne and family
What a beautiful service on Saturday. It was too crowded to get to talk to you but want you to know how much we admired Hank and that our thoughts are with you.

Anne and Family:
I am so sorry to hear about Hank. He was always there to lend a hand for Wellesley Players productions - whether wielding a paint brush or a hammer. Jane and I will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time.

Anne, Meg, Mark and Tim,

I feel very saddened by Hank's passing. I was searching the web to get your phone number when I found the entry in teh Portland herald's obituary session. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.

Dear Anne and family --
I am so stunned and heartbroken to hear that we have lost Hank. What a special man. He blessed everyone whose lives he touched, and we were lucky to have known him. You and he are in my prayers.
Fondly,

Dear Anne and family,

We are so sorry and saddened to learn that you, and we all, have lost your dear Hank, one of the kindest family- and community-oriented persons we have ever met. In conversation one always felt the focus of his attention, no matter how large the crowd. In his rare, wonderful way, Hank exemplified and gave away life's best gifts of caring and service. He inspired us. We surely will miss him and the way you all were as family together.

We helped Hank last month with water sampling on the Charles and are very saddened to hear of his passing. A kind and generous man.

Our condolences especially to Kim Lysaght, Amalia's teacher at Brown Middle School.
