Not sure what to say?

Hal was such a wonderful mentor & friend. I want to extend my deepest condolences to Reba and his family. I can't imagine what life at McGuire, Woods would have been like without him. Hal exemplified the highest ethical standards in our profession. He was a wonderful teacher, showing us younger lawyers how to vigorously defend a client with civility, even if our opponent was not of a like mind. Hal perfectly balanced commitment to his profession, his family, his church, his college & his...

Impossible not to love this generous, gracious man. He was kind and strong. He taught me how to do crossword puzzles and would order us out of the room when working on building tasks to protect our ears from the occasional profanity. There was something in Hal's personality that felt particularly solid, even anchorlike to those of us who loved him. I will miss him dearly.

I am so saddened to hear of Hal´s passing. I know the past years have been difficult for him and the whole family but we all view it as a huge loss. May your memories of him be a blessing and bring you comfort.

Reba, so many memories of Ronnie and Hal enjoying their friendship together. Hal was an amazing gentleman!! Bless you. Catherine

Sending deepest condolences on the loss of Mr. McVey. He was a wonderful gentleman and I send my wishes of sympathy to Mrs. McVey and the entire family.

Dear Reba, We were talking about Hal just last night. And remembering his sharing an apartment with Larry, Ronnie, and Ed at 7 Valley Circle. The 4 were in law school. We both send you our love. Marian and Ed

I shall always remember the professional manner in which Hal represented his clients before committees of the General Assembly - as well as his dedication to our alma mater. Harvey Morgan, H-SC `52

I am so sorry for your loss. Henry played so many roles and had an impact on the lives of many. His good deeds will never be forgotten by those he loved. May you find comfort by relying on God in prayer, and in knowing of God´s promise of a future where "no [one] will say `I am sick´."
