I knew Herb Graham when I was a teenager and my friend was his daughter. When I was caught in my teenage angst and brought my thoughts to my friend Jill, we would talk and talk, and she would tell me what wise words her father would share. I remember one time that I ran away from home and was in so much distress, I ran to Jill. We talked and talked, and Herb came in to help with his gentle and loving words which completely soothed my soul. I went home with Jill and Herb´s loving send-off, and I thank them to this day. Thank you Herb, for your kindness and your willingness to put yourself out there for me when I needed your support. I miss you, and I hope that your family can find peace and comfort in your goodness and your beautiful words.

I'm saddened to read of Herb's passing, thought it was several years ago. Herb was my radio instructor at Midwestern Broadcasting School in 1963, when I was just a teenager. I've gone on to have a 52 year career and still going strong and still in radio. Herb once came to me and whispered..."you're going to make it", at a time when hundreds of eager young people were clamoring to get into broadcasting. Herb, I did. Thanks for your mentoring and your confidence. MO

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Herb at WBBM-TV when he did voice work for "The Magic Door". We worked again on other projects. Herb was also a good friend to my Brother-in-Law, Alan Wright, who recently passed away on September 24.
It was a joy to work with Herb. He was a great talent and a good friend.
My sympathies to Estelle and to their Daughters.

Herb will indeed be missed by all who knew him and who he touched with his humor, professionalism and sheer talent. Over the years, Herb and I became close friends and I'll miss our time spent together and his gentle guidance to a young recording engineer trying to find his way in the industry. My heartfelt sympathy to Estelle and the rest of the family. He leaves a hole in the universe that can never be filled again.

Herb Graham was one of the last of a cadre of ladies and gentlemen who comprised the backbone of the voiceover generation that directly followed the on-mic actors of radio's golden age.
Herb personified the vocal artists who were still knowledgable and caring about diction, elocution and grammar.
It was my pleasure to initially meet Herb when he was doing his "Hour In The Middle Of The Evening" in the 1960s, and to work with him frequently in the decades that followed.
In addition to being the ultimate professional, Herb was a total gentleman, well liked and respected by those who employed him, and those who shared a mic with him.
I am sad at the passing of a voiceover icon, the loss of a colleague, and the departure of a friend.
Deepest sympathy to Estelle and family. Everyone who knew Herb Graham shares your loss.

I met Herb for the first time at the Chicago Historical Building on Michigan Ave when he was performing with his radio drama group a few years ago. I had listened to him for years on many commercials and political announcenments and of course his years on FM-100. Thanks Herb for sharing your great talent with all of us radio listeners in the Chicago area. You will always be in our memory. My sincere sympathy to the family.

The beautiful and talented voice is gone. But the love, tenderness and indeed the soul of Booby B Beaver will live on within every child who ever saw Booby and heard Herb. He was a great part of the essence we all tried to convey in the Magic Door when it was on WBBM tv, more than a few years ago.
With sincere condolences to Estelle and the family.
