I have a new friend down here in Guanajuato and his arrival has given this old guy the "goose" that my brain needs to wander back to my "first" Herb. Herbie, actually. What a great return on our friendship. We cannot have him back in the flesh but we get to smile, laugh, and remember him for all of the things he was. With the things that are going on in our country today, ......I wish that Herb and I could share are thoughts and plans to try to make the world "a better place". We did that...

I cannot count the number of times that I have thought of Herb/Ted since his passing. My mind goes to all of the "what ifs" and then I move on. I miss him. After his passing I got to reconnect with Margie and walked down memory lane for about an hour on the phone. Hello and condolences to Jill and all of the Diekemper's as I know they are still dealing with this loss. He is still with us and his kindness, and sense of humor, mixed with a desire to make things better for all of us------lives...

I never met you Ted but I worked with your mother at Normandy Bank. She talked all the time about you kids and how proud of you all she was. I was in my 20s during that time (1976-1979) and she helped me alot while teaching me about the safe deposit boxes. I miss Bea. You must have been a wonderful son because you had such wonderful parents!

Herb, Herbie, Herby, Ted, Teddy, The Toe,...when you called him, he was always there,....a friend for all seasons. With Greg and Bob Hanson in the Legion lot or in his families well-worn backyard,...we played, and played, and played. His Dad was usually at work (except when he was coaching), but his Mom was like a Mom to every kid that crossed her path. Herb/Ted and I reconnected a couple of years back and it was like we had never been apart. I found out about his being "The Toe" at McBride...
