Herbert E. Gladen

This is very sad news, indeed. Herb was a good friend, and a spectacular person. He was unflappably positive and would always bring joy with him, and helped make medical school classes special with his presence. As a classmate, I selfishly looked forward to reconnecting with Herb-and Edna -at our so far pandemically delayed 50th reunion. I know he made the world a better place. He was one of the good ones, and will sorely be missed...

Edna, I am sorry to hear Herb is gone. I delight in remembering him for his astounding energy, his humor, and the way he could alway don his serious facade when the moment required. I am grateful to you also for helping me when I was a student in your emergency department. Thanks for quietly fixing my dislocated shoulder while we waited for "the doctor." Kind and educational.
