This is very sad news, indeed. Herb was a good friend, and a spectacular person. He was unflappably positive and would always bring joy with him, and helped make medical school classes special with his presence. As a classmate, I selfishly looked forward to reconnecting with Herb-and Edna -at our so far pandemically delayed 50th reunion. I know he made the world a better place. He was one of the good ones, and will sorely be missed...

Edna, I am sorry to hear Herb is gone. I delight in remembering him for his astounding energy, his humor, and the way he could alway don his serious facade when the moment required. I am grateful to you also for helping me when I was a student in your emergency department. Thanks for quietly fixing my dislocated shoulder while we waited for "the doctor." Kind and educational. Best to you and your family during this hard time.
Brad, fellow minister in The Chapel of the Healing Grace.
