Herb is one of the aviation pioneers that I have proudly been associated with over my years while belonging to BPA and NAI. He joins the group with Chief Anderson, Roscoe Draper, Rev Charles Smallwood, Ed Gibbs and many more that I had the privilege to personally know and worked with over the years. This original Tuskegee Airman cared greatly about youth becoming aviators and leaders. Nearly every chance that he could, Mr. Herbert Jones came out to the flight school HJ Aviation at Potomac Airfield to encourage students, and he inspired many including myself to continue striving for our dreams and trusting God. I feel very fortunate to have known Documented Original Tuskegee Airman Herbert H. Jones, Jr. He was such an easy-going, humble man with a loving, gentle, and giving spirit. He will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. My sincere condolences to Mildred Nelson, Herb, and Rodney.
