Not sure what to say?

I hope you both are at peace and still singing some folk songs together. Miss you!!

Thinking of you Betty and how much we all still miss dear sweet Herb.

My Uncle Herb was my hero from the time I was 3 or 4 years old. I wanted to be an attorney due to his influence. He was one of the calmest people I have ever met. I trusted and respected him and I could not believe how lucky I was to have such a great uncle. He took good care of my grandparents (his parents) and my mother. I always felt as if he was my father. My family will miss him. I think of him a lot. Bye Uncle Herb.

Dear Betty,
We were so sorry to learn of the death of Herb. What a great guy! Smart, funny, a loving husband and father.
We hope that with the love of your family and friends you will be able to heal.
Fondly, Bill & Ellie

Betty,

I am (as the Quakers say) holding you in the Light. I have some lovely memories of good music and good conversation, back when you and Herb and Emily Friedman and I all lived in the (then slightly shabby) Lincoln Park neighborhood. I am still committing folk music, in no small part due to your influence.

I will miss my Uncle Herbie deeply. He was a wonderful, generous, caring man. My mother (his older sister) will miss his Sunday morning calls. Joe and I were very glad we could see him at the end of July as well as my aunt and cousins. He was a mensch!

I was so sorry to get the news that Herb had passed away. All of his friends from the Folk Music community in Chicago have fond memories of Herb & Betty and all of the great and creative goings-on at the Nudelman house on Sheffield that left an indelible mark on the rich and vibrant Chicago Folk Music scene. Please accept the condolences of all of the Chicago Folk Community.

Dear Betty and family,

We were saddened to read that Herb had passed away. We spent such a lovely afternoon with you both 15 years ago when we were visiting in your area.

I thought you might want to know that on his weekly "Midnight Special" of October 27, Rich Warren dedicated a segment to Herb and noted the contributions you and he had made to the "Midnight Special" many years ago. Yes, we still listen to that great program.

Herb was such a special guy - so clever with a great sense of humor. The trip to Panama was a wonderful shared memory of Herb and Betty
Love and condolences to Betty and the family Jack and Katie
