My Uncle Herb was my hero from the time I was 3 or 4 years old. I wanted to be an attorney due to his influence. He was one of the calmest people I have ever met. I trusted and respected him and I could not believe how lucky I was to have such a great uncle. He took good care of my grandparents (his parents) and my mother. I always felt as if he was my father. My family will miss him. I think of him a lot. Bye Uncle Herb.

Betty,
I am (as the Quakers say) holding you in the Light. I have some lovely memories of good music and good conversation, back when you and Herb and Emily Friedman and I all lived in the (then slightly shabby) Lincoln Park neighborhood. I am still committing folk music, in no small part due to your influence.

I will miss my Uncle Herbie deeply. He was a wonderful, generous, caring man. My mother (his older sister) will miss his Sunday morning calls. Joe and I were very glad we could see him at the end of July as well as my aunt and cousins. He was a mensch!

I was so sorry to get the news that Herb had passed away. All of his friends from the Folk Music community in Chicago have fond memories of Herb & Betty and all of the great and creative goings-on at the Nudelman house on Sheffield that left an indelible mark on the rich and vibrant Chicago Folk Music scene. Please accept the condolences of all of the Chicago Folk Community.

Dear Betty and family,
We were saddened to read that Herb had passed away. We spent such a lovely afternoon with you both 15 years ago when we were visiting in your area.
I thought you might want to know that on his weekly "Midnight Special" of October 27, Rich Warren dedicated a segment to Herb and noted the contributions you and he had made to the "Midnight Special" many years ago. Yes, we still listen to that great program.

Dear Betty and Family:
Irv; our family; and I were saddened to hear about Herb.
We have such wonderful and fun memories of the "folk singing" days and parties. The two of you were always so kind to our family and were an extended family to Kim.
May your wonderful memories of Herb give you warmth and smiles.
You are in our hearts and thoughts.
With much love and many hugs,
Irv; Violet and the Kerbel family

I worked with Herbie as his legal assistant at Fink, Coff & Nudelman and then Rudnick & Wolfe for almost 15 years until he retired and moved to California. He always introduced me to his prime clients and took me to meetings, so that the clients would feel comfortable talking with me on the phone when he was not available. He helped me develop my passion for real estate, and I am still a practicing residential Realtor. He always made me feel very special and treated me with personal and professional respect...how lucky was I!!
We have kept in touch all of these years. The picture is from a recent visit to California in August of this year to see Herb and Betty.
I will always love and remember him. The twinkle in those blue eyes has gone out...May his memory be for a blessing.

Dear Betty and Family,
We haven't had a chance to really get to know you, but we remember early on happily celebrating Judith's marriage to Ron Sniderman and your subsequently treating us to chocolate chip cookies when we came through Chicago one year on our way west.
We were very touched to see the photos and video of Herb.
Our condolences from Pittburgh,

Herbert Nudelman was a positive force in many lives, What I remember most is how much his grandson Benny loved him and how proud Herb was of Benny especially his mastery of jazz piano. I'll never forget the look on his face watching Benny play at the Monterey Jazz Festival! He was trilled! Love to you all. Joanie Tanzer
