Not sure what to say?

So sad to hear about this 2 years later. My condolences to the family. Wish I could have attended the service. He was my principal at Burns school. He was a great man.

One of Herb's many "work families". This one at the University of Hartford. Herb was an excellent Student Teacher Supervisor. We miss you my friend. Ed Lazaroff, Coordinator of Student Teaching, UHART

Herb was assigned as my mentor when I first became an administrator. He was a special perso.

Herb and I worked together to run the St. Joseph College Summer School program for many years. He was a mentor and a friend to me. I enjoyed his company very much and looked forward to each summer when we would work together. He was a wonderful and caring man and dynamic educator. My heartfelt condolences to his family. He has left a fine imprint on this world and will be forever remembered in my heart.

Mr. Shedroff was my first ever principal at my first job after graduating in education from Central. He was so supportive and understanding of my nervousness as a first year teacher. Every time I went into the office, Mr. Shedroff was always there to answer any questions. He went out of his way to get what I needed. With the advent of Facebook, I became Facebook friends with his niece Sharon through channels of other friends from Colchester. It was nice finding someone who was familiar...

My deepest condolences to the family through such a difficult time. Mr. Shedroff was Principal at D.F. Burns School when I attended from Kindergarten all the way to the sixth grade. I remember him greeting the students and making sure they got to class on time. He was a great person and great principal. He will always be remembered. May he Rest in Peace.

I was a student at Burns School and was there for kindergarten and 1st grade. During those years he was my principal. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

I am a Hartford Schools employee and as such received Herb's obituary notice. I am also a West Hartford resident. I recognized his (smiling) face as two of my children attended summer programs at St Joseph's years ago. Herb was the most awesome greeter; always a smile, always a kind word, joke, or piece of wisdom. I am so sorry for your loss. He was the most lovely man. Take care.

Your father, grandfather, husband will always be remembered by his calm demeanor, caring about the future of public education in a democracy, and his quick wit!!! He was my college student teaching supervisor. Noel
