Lois, Curtis, and Bryant
Debbie and I express our deepest condolences to your loss. We have fond memories of those days we worked out together. He will be missed by us all.

Bryant and Dixie -
I am very sorry for your loss. He was obviously well liked and was a wonderful man.

I am very sorry for your loss. Mr. Chan was a 3rd Dan when I began training a the United Martial Arts College under Master Kang. His strength and discipline was an example to us all. I still remember hearing stories about him removing lug nuts with his bare hands that others couldn't move with a wrench. Again my sympathies go out to your family.

Dear Curtis and Bryant,
My deepest sympathies on the passing of your Father. He was a very special man. You are fortunate to have such a great Dad. Herman and I trained often together. He trained hard and was a fierce competitor. I have many dents in my shins from his rock hard arm blocks. His double palm brick breaks were fantastic. He had the smoothest approach and made it look so easy.
May the Lord be your peace and provide you comfort.

Although I did not know Herman, I heard of him often through his daughter-in-law Dixie. His obituary captures the essence of a nice man, father and husband.

WE TRAINED, TESTED AND INSTRUCTED TOGETHER FOR YEARS AT MASTER KANGS TAE KWON DO MARTIAL ART COLLEGE. HERMAN EXCELLED WITH THE THE SHORT STICK & LONG STICK. HE SPECIALIZED IN BREAKING BRICKS WITH THE HEAL OF HIS FOOT. I REMEMBER THE FUN TIMES TOGETHER DOING THE DEMONSTRATIONS AT THE STATE FAIR. I WILL MISS YOU MY BROTHER, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY (LOIS, CURTIS AND BRYANT).

Please accept my deepest sympathies.

I knew Herman from Tae Kwon Do. He was one of my first instructors when I joined some 20 years ago. His classes were tough and well taught. He gave me the first impression of the discipline that is required to suceed at martial arts. I will not forget his teachings and his good character.
