Billy, I am so sad to see this obituary. He was so very strong. I remember one night he came out and told me he was going to shoot the buzzard in that cherry tree for eating all his sweet cherries. After that when I came to town he reminded me of that incident.he was a special part of my life as were you and Bobby. Still remember that wonderful laugh. My prayers and love are with you and your family.

Herman "Dutch" was my father and my mentor. He was one of the original fix it men. I think he could come up with a solution to any problem or any item that broke. He definitely lived a life of hard physical labor. He lived through more than two years in the 776th Tank destroyer Battallion in WWII. Their unit worked their way through North Africa, Italy and France. He was a medic so I cannot imagine some of the things he was witness to. He told me when he returned from WWII they built their...
