When I first met Homer it was as awkward as meeting any girlfriends dad. But he was different in the aspect of not blowing me off ( as a father of two girls myself, I think I would have). He never treated me with anything but respect, and honesty...even when I didn't necessarily want it. Over the years I knew him our friendship grew and he became the father I never had. I always told him "I want to be just like u when I grow up", and that's still true. He is know to alot of people as a mechanic, but he " repaired" people more than cars. His widom and experience was second to none. And he was never to busy to share it. I hope someday i will be remembered and honored like him...because he is just " AWESOME". I know he has been and will always be sorely missed in this houshold, I see/ feel it everyday. He will always be in my thoughts and hopefully in my actions and words for the rest of my days. I hope he knows how much I appreciate the time we spent together and especially the blessing of his daughter in my life. Where ever u are Homer I know u are in good company and I know we will see each other again...mabe we can do somthin new like " smoke and drink and tell lies"!!! Many, many papaw I will always miss u.
Love, your son...

Homer was a big part of our lives for many years. We all learned a lot from him and had so many laughs. He always had such a sense of humor in light of pretty much any situation. He loved his family very much and adored each of his grandkids. He was an animal lover and had a heart of gold. He will be very much missed.
