Britt and I both lost a dear friend when we lost Gene. Britt was in Optimist with Gene for many years. We have delightful memories of Gene & Betty at so many Optimist functions. My first memories of Gene were at SportsFirst. I taught the Senior Aerobic class there & was totally terrified of Gene. I would go home & tell Britt how mean Gene was & he would just laugh & tell me what a nice guy he really was. After much endurance I finally won Gene over & found out what a "teddy bear" he was. We both loved Gene dearly. Betty please know we will continue to pray for you.
