Conny, Howard was a true force for the betterment of society. He was always helpful to me when I was Chair of the Crossroads Family Shelter and in my days at Hilton. I will miss his kindness and he will be in our prayers! Bert James

Very sad to learn of Howard's passing. We were classmates at Brandeis and I knew I could always count on him to help on my reunion committee, including the most recent, last year, which I co-chaired. My condolences to his family.

I am deeply saddened by Howard's passing, so many celebrate his life in public service, connected with each other by him. His corner office at city hall, 9th floor, the site of so many introductions, collaborations, partnerships and good for the city and its people. I revered his understated brilliance in bringing together people and getting everyone's talent out in front and making working together a joyful habit. He'd put together a room of policy wonks, speech writers, advance people, event specialists and make it all work, deflecting any credit, a mirror shining our collective light. It will always shine brightly Howard thanks to you. To Conny and his family, my thoughts are with you during this time. He made us all feel unique, loved and supported. I will miss him dearly.

Howard led a mission driven life and was a friend to all.
He left the world a better place. We remember when he won the election for Democratic State Committeeman from Jamaica Plain. Marion and I went to his victory party to show our support for him. He was truly for the people. We will miss him in our neighborhood in JP and stand united in purpose with his passion for helping people. Thank you Howard for everything you have done. You made a difference. You are missed.

My condolences to his wife Conny and his family, as well as his legions of friends. Rest in peace - may your memory be a blessing.

Very sad indeed. May his soul be bound up in the Bond of Life and may the memories of his dedication to his family and friends, to Brandeis and his work, serve as an inspiration and comfort to all who knew him. """"
