Howard E. Wagner

WAGNER, HOWARD E. Howard E. Wagner a long time Whittier resident,was born in St. Francis, KS. He passed away peacefully on August 19, 2011 at the age of 91. He grew up on a farm in Kansas, and came to California in 1939 with his family. He lived in Bell, CA and attended USC until 1942, when he went into the Army, Tank Division. He and his wife, Juanita, were married in 1946. They had two children, Penelope Jane and Wade E. Wagner. Howard owned his own business in Whittier, Wahib Steel Corp., a reinforcing steel erection company. Among many of his accomplishments, was placing all the rebar in the underground section of the subway in Washington, DC. Howard was a memeber of Hacienda Golf Club for many years. The Wagners' moved to Morningside, Fullerton, CA where he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, and son Wade. Howard is survived by his daughter, Penny Leighton of San Antonio, TX and his brother, Wilmot E. Wagner and wife, Elaine, of Havasu, AZ, four grandchildren, Lisa Carr and Darren Leighton of San Antonio, Prentice and Ryan Wagner of Virginia, and eight great grandchildren.
