Ian lived with us for a short while when he attended Fordham. My father was Ian´s uncle Henry (Harry) married to Bridget (Betty) King. I was greatly saddened by Ian´s departure from this life. Ian was a wonderful and true friend - "best man" at my wedding, "apartment-mate", confidant, advisor, travel companion and a great buddy in science. We shared fabulous times together over many years before he went "Stateside". Thereafter it was so enjoyable to visit him in Florida and a privilege to be present at his daughter Richella´s wedding in Clearwater in 2011. I met Ian back in 2015 during my last years of high school. At that time, I was taking calculus for the first time and needed extra help to get through my classes. Not only did Ian help me pass those classes, but he also shaped my trajectory towards becoming an engineer. He offered advice and words of encouragement that influenced my mindset as a college student, giving me the confidence to keep pushing forward. Ronan and family, I send my deepest condolences and sympathy. Ian was one-of-a-kind. I will remember his sharp with and passion for learning. Most of all, I will remember how he loved you all and especially how he doted on JJ the Jack Russell.
