Ian lived with us for a short while when he attended Fordham. My father was Ian´s uncle Henry (Harry) married to Bridget (Betty) King. I´m Colm King, one of six siblings: Harry, Joe, Kevin, Vinny and Sharon.
Ian was such a kind and calm person with a quick wit and the most interesting stories. He could talk, but you always wanted to hear more.
I regret not hearing more stories when Ian and my Dad were chatting about my father and his brother Sean growing up; it seems they could be quite the hell raisers.
Ian would come home and hang his shirt back up in the closet and it looked as fresh as when he put it on in the morning.
He´d get two days of use. My Mom would ask us why we couldn´t be like Ian and come home fresh and clean, instead of as if we´d gone to war.
Our house would have put Animal House to shame with our unruly behavior. I´m pretty sure that´s why Ian left after a short while to live temporarily with his aunts Sadie & Lily in search of some peace and quiet.
Although 11 years older than I was, Ian impressed me as such a kind and considerate person, but no matter how hard I´ve tried, I´ll never get two days use out of my shirts.
Ian will always be in our thoughts and prayers,
Colm

I was greatly saddened by Ian´s departure from this life.
Ian was a wonderful and true friend - "best man" at my wedding, "apartment-mate", confidant, advisor, travel companion and a great buddy in science.
We shared fabulous times together over many years before he went "Stateside".
Thereafter it was so enjoyable to visit him in Florida and a privilege to be present at his daughter Richella´s wedding in Clearwater in 2011.
Despite being separated by the Atlantic Ocean we spoke regularly.
We shared many moments where we caught up with each others ongoing experiences, family happenings and life"s "ups and downs".
He bore his illness with great dignity and courage and was a role model for anyone so afflicted.
I will miss his friendship enormously and will cherish the memory of that friendship forever.
My deepest condolences to Jean, Richella, Ronan and Orla.
May Ian rest in peace.

I met Ian back in 2015 during my last years of high school. At that time, I was taking calculus for the first time and needed extra help to get through my classes. Not only did Ian help me pass those classes, but he also shaped my trajectory towards becoming an engineer. He offered advice and words of encouragement that influenced my mindset as a college student, giving me the confidence to keep pushing forward. Even now, Ian´s words and teachings still guide me as a working professional in aerospace engineering. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a gifted and kind person.
Always in my memories,
Reilly

Ronan and family, I send my deepest condolences and sympathy. Ian was one-of-a-kind. I will remember his sharp with and passion for learning. Most of all, I will remember how he loved you all and especially how he doted on JJ the Jack Russell.
