Imogene Crowder Obituary
She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and a former member of Liberty Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sons, Tim Crowder and Paul Crowder; Paul's son, "Little" Tim Crowder; and husband, Ray Crowder. Also preceding her were brothers, Hubert Thomason and Dr. W.O. "Bill" Thomason; and sister, Ruth Ward.
Survivors are daughters, Anne (David) Lucas and Shirley Crowder; grandsons, Brian (April) Lucas, Chas Crowder and Lee Lucas; and great-granddaughters, Claudia and Julia Lucas. Other survivors: brother, John Alton "Tutt" Thomason; sisters, Eleanor Hayden, Jeannette Jeffers, Roberta (Talmage) Perrin and Dr. Eloise (John) Kirk; as well as a host of nephews and nieces.
Jeannie and Ray served as Southern Baptist career missionaries in Nigeria, West Africa. They counted among their family all those who served there. She was loved by all who met her, and anyone who met her felt as if he/she was her best friend.
The service celebrating her life was Monday, May 10, 2010, at Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Partners Ministry, Truth In Love Ministries or a mission organization of your choice. Call Liberty Park Baptist Church, 205-969-1236, for the mailing addresses of these ministries.

Dear Anne and Shirley, my Mother and Daddy, Lewis Earl and Annie Lou Willingham, and I were members of Calvary Baptist Church and Eastside Baptist Church when your Mom and Dad were there....Ray was a really good preacher and Jeannie was so much fun, they complimented each other so well...I will always remember the good times the church had at Leesburg and the loving church family...Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...Bobbie Willingham Thompson

Shirley and Anne, I'm so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. My mom and dad were the Fosters from Eastside in East Gadsden. They were such an inspiration to all of us. I'll always remember the stories they told about Nigeria. Love to you all, Andrea Foster Wolfe, Gadsden

Dear Anne: Please accept my condolences in the passing of your mother. I recall Dave (Johnson) and my visit with your family during college. I also think of you and David frequently.
